2022 Earplay Vibrant Shores Composition Prize
Applications are now open!
Earplay is excited to invite submissions for our inaugural Vibrant Shores Prize from composers identifying as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, or people of color.
The Vibrant Shores Prize includes a $1,000 cash prize and a performance and live recording of the winning composition.
Applications are due by June 30, 2022 at 11:59PM PDT. The winning composition will be announced in August 2022. There is no application fee. Applications are limited to the first 100 applicants.
Guidelines
Please read these guidelines before submitting:
- You are limited to submitting one work.
- You must identify as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, or as a person of color.
- You must be a resident of the United States.
- Your piece must be no longer than 10 minutes in duration; 7-9 minutes is preferred.
- Your piece must be scored for 2-6 players from Earplay's core ensemble: flute/piccolo, clarinet/bass clarinet, violin, viola, cello, and piano.
- Your piece must have been written within the last 10 years.
