2012 Earplay Donald Aird Composers Competition

Eligibility

• Applicants may be of any nationality.
• Applicants may be of any age.

Compositions

• Works are limited to 1 to 4 players chosen from Earplay's ensemble:
  • flute/piccolo/alto flute
  • clarinet/bass clarinet
  • piano
  • violin
  • viola
  • cello
• Works may include electronics.
• Works may be of any duration (8-15 minutes preferred).
• Any number of pieces may be submitted.

Award

• Cash prize: $1,000.
• Performance by Earplay during the 2012-2013 season.
• The winner will be announced in July 2012.
• All entries will be considered for performance.

Deadline  Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2012.

Application

• Scores and recordings (strongly recommended) must be submitted anonymously. All identification of the composer and of his/her professional or academic affiliation must be removed.
• A completed application form, enclosed in an envelope.
• Include a $25 application fee per score in the form of cash or payment through PayPal.
• For materials to be returned, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope (stamped only, no metered postage) International submissions cannot be returned.
